Tell us about your journey to becoming a holistic health advocate?

Like all things in life, the natural eb and flow of existing, through diving into the unknown, exploring my inner being and stumbling, a lot. Experiencing heartbreak physically, due to disregard to my own health, and emotionally to my own disruption to wellness. The persistent drive to keep learning led me into the advocacy of integrative holistic living and mentoring. I never planned to be a leader in this field or an inspirational guide to others. It just came so natural and once I finally stopped resisting and denying my own purpose, I finally settled into my True Self. I call myself a “mindful living mentor” because I truly believe living a holistic life is about integrating the practice into our lives on a daily basis, in all that we do. Which means it is “living” from a place of “mindfulness”. My “mentoring" is a teaching in itself and I am constantly evolving as I help others, in the art of existing as a spiritual being while still honoring our humanness!

Who do you admire in the holistic world?

I am inspired by those who are real, honest and speak their truth. Those who aren’t afraid of their humanness, of making mistakes, failure, feeling the full range of emotions that make us human beings. I am encouraged by those who embrace their raw ability to evolve with mindfulness. Those who do the work and know how rewarding it is. Those who stand for others, the sacred earth and live from a compassionate heart. I am inspired by those who take the courageous act of stepping into their own light. Those are the people who I admire, adore and am intrigued by. And in this world today, more and more people are waking up, and we are starting to connect everywhere, like millions of light bulbs across the globe being turned on!

How do you remain authentic within a commercial world?

Great question indeed! This is precisely why I created Mindful Evolution. I believe we can evolve in so many ways (some awakening and some not). When we choose to grow from a place of consciousness, we not only transition ourselves but also we transform the way we do business, the interactions we have with people, the standards we allow, and we create very firm non-negotiable and healthy boundaries. Over the years, I have had the great opportunity to be an ambassador for very well known yoga and healthy living lifestyle companies. Big companies. As my ambassadorships continued and my depth of awakening evolved, I found myself unsettled by what I was representing. I chose to re-direct my energy into companies that were more in-sync with my values and beliefs on mindful living. I have chosen to be very clear when approached my new companies, to do my research on sourcing, product, etc. The saying “ignorance is bliss” is not bliss at all. When we begin to do our homework, we become more aware, then we are able to create our own bliss by being a part of the educated solution. That which we hold sacred internally, mirrors how we are externally to the world! I will admit, sometimes it takes some time - deep listening does that - but it is so worth it!

Tell us about your company and where we can find you?

My pleasure! My company is Mindful Evolution, aka M.E. Living Wellness. I am available for online sessions, and locally in both Colorado and Southern California. I reside in Salida, Colorado where I teach regularly scheduled yoga classes, immersions and workshops throughout the state. I travel to San Diego to teach, guide and offer mentoring in classes, immersions and retreats. I also provide online wellness programs in health, meditation and to create a lifestyle around mindful living each spring and fall. I am available for one on one mentoring in life guidance, mediation, yoga and small business consulting!

What is your favourite treatment that you like to spoil yourself with?

I love to receive Reflexology! I have been gifting myself this treatment once a month for the last three years and for me, it is perfection!

What do you do on a daily basis that you find keeps your life on track in a holistic way?

I allow myself to BE myself. That may sound really strange, I know. But when you really think about it, it starts to make sense. I have learned that in order for me to keep my practice alive, I must listen to myself and be myself. So when stuff comes up, and it does, I integrate my years of mindfulness practices (yoga, meditation, “getting native” - that means connecting to nature) into the situation and choose to speak from my heart and my truth. Choosing to live in this way, grants me infinite joy, freedom and a deep compassion towards myself, which then translates to all whom I interact with. My heart is full. When my heart is full, my body is awake and happy. I am at my most optimal well Being!

Where is your favourite place to nourish yourself?

Outside in Nature, on a mountain, in high altitude, with the wind on my skin, the sounds of the leaves singing, the pure bliss of being one with Mother Earth. No words. No chatter. No Doing.

What practice or treatment can’t you live without?

Mindful Evolution! I know you are probably thinking “what about yoga or meditation or acupuncture.” All those are well and good and I use them, they are a part of my practice. But I have found that Mindful Evolution - evolving with mindfulness is the practice itself. It asks us to be honest with ourselves and with others and that is such a profound practice for self-healing, growth and our human evolution to tap into our higher consciousness! I cannot live without this anymore. I won’t! And I hope you don’t either because the world is a better place with your awake-ness!
